Web DevelopmentPHP/MySQLI have been developing in PHP with MySQL databases since the late 90's. This is my preferred environment for web development. I am highly experienced with PHP/MySQL. XHTML/CSSI've always been a strong supporter of web standards. I always do my best to ensure that my code is clean and works in all modern web browsers. JavaScriptI am quite experienced with JavaScript. I am able to create scripts from scratch or work with and understand existing scripts. ASPI am familiar with ASP and able to work with it when necessary. I prefer to avoid ASP but I am skilled enough to debug existing scripts or convert ASP to PHP. Application DevelopmentVisual Basic & Visual Basic .NETMy programming career started with QBasic. QBasic led me to Visual Basic 1 which eventually led me to Visual Basic 6. I then ventured into Visual Basic .NET and developed a strong understanding of the language. Overall, I would rate myself highly experienced with the Visual Basic family of languages. JAVAI've done a fair bit of work with Java in the past and would rate myself at a mid-to-high experience level. Objective-C/CocoaI've recently started learning Objective-C and Cocoa for Mac and iPhone development. I currently have a low-to-mid experience level. Operating SystemsLinux/UNIX*nix based operating systems have become my preferred environment by far. I have been using *nix based operating systems almost exclusively now for many years. I am quite experienced using the command line to perform tasks, install or update software, repair a machine who's X server no longer starts, etc. Mac OSI currently own a Mac and am becoming more and more experienced day by day. This is easily my favourite operating system. Windows 9x/2000/XPBefore my switch to Linux, Windows was my primary operating system. I've used it, abused it, repaired it, etc. I've done several years as an on-site computer tech and have learned a great deal of things about Windows under-the-hood. There probably isn't much that I haven't done with Windows. |
